The Health Care Revenue Cycle is more than just a medical billing and coding book. Students develop an understanding of the basic types of medical insurance programs and how to deal with standard medical and insurance forms. In addition, there is coverage of state and federal laws, Medicare and Medicaid, bankruptcy laws, and hospital and physician protocols.

The book covers how to understand the complicated world of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding manuals, CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms, pre-authorizations, managed care, copayments and deductibles, and how hospitals and doctors' offices really work. Care was taken to make all information scrupulously accurate and up-to-date.

Teaching is aided by the use of flow charts, tables, an inclusive table of contents and index and an appendix of standard forms. Each chapter concludes with abbreviations and acronyms and an abundance of sample test questions. There are even test taking strategies. In short, this is a learning manual.

We plan to regularly upgrade the manual to reflect the latest trends in the delivery of health care. And there will be additional books to keep our clients on the cutting edge of the administration of health care.
